BLACK HISTORY CONTEST

Black History Essay Contest February is Black History month and we would like to invite your youth to participate in the Imperial Youth Black History Essay Contest. The start date is February 1, 2023, and this year’s topic will focus on a person or event that has an ongoing effect on Black Society in 2023. All essays will acknowledge some intricate detail and nugget(s) that the average person would not know about your chosen person or event. A “nugget” is a little-known fact for example, “Ben started a law-firm for African Americans.” Three winners will be selected from each grade level: elementary school (grades 4-5), middle school (grades 6-8) and high school (grades 9-12). Each winner will receive a certificate, a gift card and their essay will be posted on the Imperial Youth Department website. Requirements: A typewritten essay must be submitted. Number words: High School-minimum-200, Middle school minimum-150, Elementary-minimum 50.  Please make sure the youth include their full name, contact number, Temple and Court Name and No., and Director/Directress contact information with their submission.

Email all entries to: alittle2455@yahoo.com. Winners will be announced in March. So, let's start researching and present your best essay. All entries must be received by 5 pm (ET) on Friday, February 25, 2023. If additional information is requested, please free to contact Project Chairman Noble Aldric Little at  little2455@yahoo.com  or  Co-Chair, Dt. Lois Middleton at midletlo@aol.com
